The Berenstain Bears - The Stump Must Go!

Wow! It's been a whole week since I posted a Berenstain Bears book. However did I resist? :) Since I'm selecting books rather randomly at our local library, it's been nice to have an assortment of target ages even within the same series. What's even better is that the Berenstain Bears stories apparently grew with their children. The Stump Must Go! is another pre-Sister story featuring the adventures of a boy and his stubborn father. In this tale, Papa Bear stubs his toe on a tiny little twig sticking up about 3 inches from the ground (the "stump"). With his toe in pain, Papa Bear vows to remove the stump. However, like many roots, this little stump goes down very deep and proves to be just as stubborn as Papa Bear. Eventually, our heroes prevail, though having caused much destruction (think dynamite) along the way. As always, I very much enjoyed this story. It actually has a plot as well as a good rhyming scheme that makes it perfect for beginner readers. Highly recommended!
